Fear not! I am telling you this in advance so you will know that God is in control, has a plan and wants to get your attention.
Humans are aware that we are. We know we exist. We look in a mirror and understand that what we see is our reflection. When a baby is born it quickly starts discovering its own self, making sounds, touching their face, looking at their hand, wiggling their toes.
But then around 13 years old for a girl and about 15 for a boy we are mentally able to understand that we are mortal. We will die.
Death – dĕth
- loss of life
Mortal – môr′tl
- Liable or subject to death; not immortal.
Immortal – ĭ-môr′tl
- Not subject to death.
Immortality – ĭm″ôr-tăl′ĭ-tē
- Endless life or existence.
Eternal – ĭ-tûr′nəl
- Continuing without interruption;
- always existing (opposed to temporal – limited by time)
- eternal life is not really associated with “years” at all, as it is independent of time.
- Eternal life can function outside of and beyond time, as well as within time.
…this mortal must put on immortality. 54 … and this mortal has put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written: “Death is swallowed up in victory.”
