Rapture Countdown 6 Days My mentors are all dead

And yet they are still cheering me forward!

Remember the former things of old,
For I am God, and there is no other;
I am God, and there is none like Me,
¹⁰ Declaring the end from the beginning,
And from ancient times things that are not yet done,
Saying, ‘My counsel shall stand,
And I will do all My pleasure,’ Isaiah 46:9-10

Several years ago, my last mentor physically died, he was in my life for almost ten years between my ages of 30 to 40 years old. He & I would “talk the scriptures” three times a week for about 3 hours at a time. I have been most fortunate because of the many people that have been placed in my life and who have influenced my journey, but I could never measure them as greater or lesser. Some crossed my path only for a moment, yet their impact was life changing and others in my life, needed a longer period to model patience and long suffering.

I have three levels of people who have made an impact in my life that I would like to give honor to; perhaps as you look back you may discover you have had the same. Of course, I want to list all of the folks who were kind and loving to me but the reality is that the impact may have been negative, and the result would be choosing what you don’t want in your life. Does that make sense to you?

Level One – People I have looked into their eyes

Alive today or not, these would be people older than you, whom you have physically touched, listened to their voice and looked into their eyes. The point is, for better or worse, you have encountered them firsthand, and you were an “eyewitness” to their life. This group would include relatives, classroom teachers, sports coach, or a spiritual leader.

Level Two – People who left something behind for you

Perhaps you may have run into this person once, but more than likely you have never been in their physical presence, but you have read their book or listened to a recorded talk that “somehow” landed into your hands. I have many of these. As I describe myself having as a treasure hunter attitude, I have scoured through hundreds of books and recordings of folks who have gone before me. Most I have discarded to the trash, a few I have kept in my treasured library, but all have affected me.

Level three – People of History

I am of the persuasion that if I could research far enough back where a thing started, I could then understand its purpose for today and possibility grasp its importance for my life in the future. These people are not those in history one hundred years ago, rather people of ancient history. History recorded back to what we would consider the beginning. We know there are tales and folklore with Paul Bunion and Johnny Appleseed, myths describing spiritual beings like Zeus and Neptune and children’s stories of: Robin Hood and King Author, but what about truth. Is there such history of truth recorded that far back?

After years of my personal study and research, I have discovered that there are several ancient writings that tried to preserve our past. Even the few ancient libraries or collections of documents inscribed on clay have crumbled over time and those written on animal skins, tree bark or early parchment have been the victims of war or fire. But some that have survived, have been proven creditable as archeology has matched locations and events described in the writings therefore validating them as true history.

This is where it gets exciting!

We have in our possession a book that stands in a class all its own. It is a collection of writings written by several different authors over two-thousand years. These writings are validated as truth because there are threads of information that weave its way through all the writings without contradicting themselves. It is primarily the Documentation of the Divine: preparation, birth, collapse and rebirth of a world nation. It is the record of real people, with real names, living out real lives. These are the earliest Level Three mentors I could find, and you probably have heard of many of them: Abraham, Moses, King David, and Jesus and more.

The Book

The book is not just about history, it is about life, the purpose of life, and the joy of living. The book also reveals the great hope of our future, and how we have been given the right, the privilege, or the free will to investigate options for ourselves and choose our own path. If that is not enough, for our pleasure of understanding it was written in several different genres: history, poetry, the dramatic epic, wise sayings, and the prophetic sections, which foretell of future events which over 500 have already been fulfilled.

Lastly in 1947 several original transcripts of these documents were discovered, well preserved and named the Dead Sea Scrolls. They are now guarded and viewed in museums for the world to enjoy. The copied manuscripts we had available at the time were only about 1700 years old, but these scrolls were confirmed about 3000 years old. When the two were compared the amazing attention to detail between the two was a miracle in itself.

So, these are my three levels of real people who have impacted and influenced my life’s journey, but now that my last mentor is physically dead I had to ask:

What was my purpose?

I realize we are all on the same timeline and I have discovered exactly where I fit. I have felt a great responsibility to honor all those who have been woven into my life by sharing the truths that have been given me, and to encourage those who have lived in my lifetime to grasp the great joy that has been offered to us.

In this Rapture Countdown may I say as Paul did:

 …the time of my departure is at hand. ⁷ I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. ⁸ Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing. 2 Timothy 4:6-8

If you are reading this and I am missing; as in disappeared, I am with Jesus right now but evidently you are still on earth. With the greatest of love, I have left you this book to help you understand and guide you through these next few years. I have prayed for you, that Father God would give you strength to yield to Jesus and proclaim Him your personal: Savior, Lord and King, just as this book instructs.
