Jesus Followers – Navigating the Year 2024
This is a BIG question for today. Not just for the confused world but primarily for Jesus Followers! If asked, can you give a bold straight forward answer?
Our identity is in Christ alone!
I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives
in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of
God, who loved me and gave Himself for me. Galatians 2:20
Please folks we can no longer use the old clichés, which say to this dying world that we are nothing more than powerless hypocrites. IDENTITY IS POWER!
- If we say we are Christians we are using a muddied dumb down word that means everything from being an American to being in a religion.
- If we say we are Catholic, Baptist, Word of Faith, or any other man made denomination we simply have a “form” of godliness BUT NO POWER!
No wonder the world mocks us, if we can’t identify who we are then the world will identify us for us.
THE FENCE SITTER
...a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways. James 1:7
Interesting thing about fence sitters, they straddle the fence to have a view of both sides and always keep their options open. This describes the direction of all religious organizations today; they refuse to identify with Jesus and all He stood for. Trying to be friends with the world, a double-minded fence sitter will be forced off this powerless middle position; which side will you fall? God is calling all of us to come out from among the world!
Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness? 15 And what accord has Christ with Belial? Or what part has a believer with an unbeliever? 16 And what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For you are the temple of the living God. As God has said:
“I will dwell in them And walk among them. I will be their God, And they shall be My people.”
17 Therefore “Come out from among them And be separate, says the Lord.
Do not touch what is unclean, And I will receive you.” 18 “I will be a Father to you, And you shall be My sons and daughters, Says the Lord Almighty.” 2 Corinthians 6:14-18

A TRIP THROUGH EPHESIANS!
Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, To the saints who are in Ephesus, and faithful in Christ Jesus:
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ,
that in the dispensation of the fullness of the times He might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven and which are on earth—in Him.
that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him,
which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places,
even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved),
and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus,
that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.
For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.
But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ.
that the Gentiles should be fellow heirs, of the same body, and partakers of His promise in Christ through the gospel,
and to make all see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the ages has been hidden in God who created all things through Jesus Christ;
according to the eternal purpose which He accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord,
that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love,
but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ
