Jesus Followers – Navigating the Year 2024

Remember the former things of old,
For I am God, and there is no other;
I am God, and there is none like Me,
¹⁰ Declaring the end from the beginning,
And from ancient times things that are not yet done,
Saying, ‘My counsel shall stand,
And I will do all My pleasure,’ Isaiah 46:9-10

…we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us. Hebrews 12:1-2

This scripture gives me the picture of marathon runners entering a stadium to run the last lap in the presence of a cheering crowd. A marathon starts at a certain location; the runner runs for about 25 miles through open land and then enters a stadium to run the last lap and crosses the finish line!

Today: the end of September 2024 I see many of us running toward that stadium. I can see the bright lights in a short distance; I can hear the crowd cheering, as the runners have been spotted in the distance. As we enter the large entrance of the stadium the roar of the crowd seems to make the pain in our natural bodies seem like nothing. Then we recognize this isn’t any usual crowd, it is actually that great cloud of witnesses, standing to their feet, cheering us on to not give up on this last lap. It is the testimony of each one of these elders, mentors; cheering, blowing trumpets, clapping hands and stomping feet, all to the same rhythm. Those that laid the foundation for us: Adam, Isaac, Jacob Moses, Joshua, Rahab, Gideon, Samson, David, Samuel, Daniel, the Twelve Apostles, Paul, right down to John the Baptizer who prepared the way for Jesus. Oh such a great crowd of witnesses and then our prize as we cross the finish line straight into the arms of Jesus our; Savior, King and Lord: our long awaited Bridegroom!

As Paul said: …the time of my departure is at hand. ⁷ I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. ⁸ Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing. 2 Timothy 4:6-8

If you are reading this and I am missing; as in disappeared, I am with Jesus right now but evidently you are still on earth. With the greatest of love, I have left you this book to help you understand and guide you through these next few years. I have prayed for you, that Father God would give you strength to yield to Jesus and proclaim Him your personal: Savior, Lord and King, just as this book instructs.
