Fools vs Wise
In Proverbs various kinds of fools are discussed including those who are closed-minded, over-confident, and reject instruction and correction—the unteachable; those who lack spiritual insight—the spiritually blind; and those who are flippant, hardened, and who deliberately choose to reject God and wisdom—the arrogant.
Again, If we are trying to “please” the world by using worldly entertainment to attract them to God, we have not only missed the bullseye (the perfect will of God) we have missed the target altogether.
One man said: “Whatever you use to attract a person to your ministry, you will have to maintain to keep them.” If you use “rock concerts” with light shows to attract people, you will need to continue “rock concerts” to keep them, plus you will need to produce bigger and better performances each year.
In this crucial hour on God’s Time-line we will need to discern the fools and actually steer clear of them. We judge this by pursuing wisdom. So let’s take a look at wisdom.
WISDOM FROM GOD
1 The proverbs of Solomon the son of David, king of Israel:
2 To know wisdom and instruction, To perceive (understand, discern) the words of understanding,
3 To receive the instruction of wisdom, Justice, judgment, and equity;
4 To give prudence to the simple, To the young man knowledge and discretion—
5 A wise man will hear and increase learning, And a man of understanding will attain (acquire) wise counsel,
6 To understand a proverb and an enigma (interpretation of a figure of speech), The words of the wise and their riddles (this require reflection).
7 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge (it’s the starting point) But fools despise wisdom and instruction. Proverbs 1:1-7
“Father God help us today to seek Your Will and Your Way. Continue to lead and guide us in Your Word by Your Spirit. We are thankful and humbled that we are seated at Your Right Hand in Your Son Jesus with all spiritual authority. In this hour of the “gleaning” of the last souls before we hear Jesus say: “Come up here.” may we seize each opportunity to share Your Love.”
Before we can look at a 2024-2023 strategy of ministry based on:
- God’s Wisdom
- Discerning the times
- Knowing who we are in Christ
- Operating in the power of the Holy Spirt verses man’s arm of the flesh
We will need to take inventory; Physical and Spiritual inventory. When God was calling Moses into ministry, God ask Moses to take inventory:
So the Lord said to him, “What is that in your hand?” Exodus 4:2
Taking Inventory, these will be our starting questions:

What are the things in your life that slow down (or maybe even stop) your spiritual maturity?
