OUR MOTIVATION IN THIS HOUR IS TO PLEASE OUR LORD JESUS AND NOT TO LET SATAN DISQUALIFY US IN ANY AREA.

“Holy Spirit reveal the things in our lives that slow down (or maybe even stop) our spiritual maturity, then give us the power to cut these things out of our lives and break their power!”

¹⁶ I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. ¹⁷ For the flesh lusts against the Spirit…Galatians 5:16

This is the last of taking Physical and Spiritual Inventory. As we identify with Jesus and choose to walk in the power of The Holy Spirit to be a witness to this last dark generation, we MUST rid ourselves of ALL of these worldly roadblocks.

What are the things in your life that slow down (or maybe even stop) your spiritual maturity?

¹⁹ Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, ²¹ envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. Galatians 5:19-21

The next eleven works of the flesh are attitudes or personalities influenced by demonic spirits and don’t necessarily have a physical item to look for.

These are more of a result or consequence of the first six works of the flesh and can be better defined by their counterpart of the fruit of the Spirit starting with Galatians 5:22.

• Hatred – Love (Spirit of Death – 1 Corinthians 15:26)
• Contentions – joy ( Spirit of Haughtiness/Pride – Proverbs 16:18)
• Jealousies – peace  (Spirit of Jealousy Numbers 5:14,30)
• Outbursts of wrath – Long suffering (Spirit of Fear 2 Timothy 1:7)
• Selfish ambitions – Kindness (Familiar Spirit Leviticus 20:27)
• Dissensions – goodness (Lying Spirit John 8:44)
• Heresies – faithfulness (Spirit of Error (1 John 4:6)
• Envy – gentleness (Perverse Spirit Isaiah 19:14)
• Murders – self-control (Spirit of Death 1 Corinthians 15:26)
• Drunkenness – crucified the flesh with its passions and desires (Seducing Spirit 1 Tim 4:1)
• Revelries – do not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another. (Spirit of Anti-Christ 1 John 4:3)

Being a Watchman and Gatekeeper for your family is a calling from God and God will help. Here is a simple process:

1. Pray for God’s help; ask for wisdom, discernment and great love for your household.

2. Get your own life “squared away” even if you are still making a few mistakes, stand strong and take charge for you and your family.

3. Recruit your family to help you in this battle; have family meetings to express struggles, victories and to pray for help. Be vulnerable here.

4. Have each family member pray to see if there is anything unacceptable in their lives that is not pleasing to our Lord.

Let us end this series with where we started; with a confession:

I identify as a spiritually born again, obedient follow of Jesus Christ; the LIVING Son of God.

God raised Jesus the Christ from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come.

And He put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be head over all things to the “Called Out  Ones”, which is His body…

• In Christ – by grace I have been saved and made alive together with Him.
• In Christ – I am raised up together, with Him to sit in the heavenly places.
• In Christ – I am His workmanship, created for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.
• In Christ – as a Gentile I am a fellow heir, of the same body, and partakers of His promise through the gospel.
• In Christ – I am being rooted and grounded in love as Christ dwells in my heart through faith.
• In Christ – I am blessed with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places.
• In Christ – I will be gathered together (caught up in heaven) as one body, both which are in heaven and which are on earth—in Him.
• In Christ – I have the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him,
• In Christ – the ages to come will see the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward me.
