WEEK 2 DAY 2 – Discipleship Course – ENTERING THE KINGDOM OF GOD

Memory Verse:

1 Corinthians 10:13 NKJV

13 No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.

HOW TO LISTEN TO JESUS WITHIN – WHERE IS CHRIST WHEN HE COMMUNICATES WITH YOU?

Thought #1 – Jesus speaks to you in your inner being.

Colossians 1:27 – To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.

Ephesians 3:16 …that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man…

Thought #2 – Body, mind and soul; let’s clear it up. When Adam and Eve sinned (remember sin separates) they died, but wait, were they not still walking around? They died spiritually, separated from that intimate relationship with God the life giver. But still physically walking around in their body and thinking with their mind. We therefore all born spiritually dead.

Remember we are talking about prayer and communicating with God.

In the beginning Adam would receive communication direct from God to his spirit, after sin the spirit is silent, dark and dead therefore; mankind would have to get his information from another source, his flesh body and environment, through natural: seeing, touching, feeling, hearing and tasting (our five senses).

Thought #3 – What happened when we were born again? You have been rebirthed to be able to communicate with God. But now there is a war as your flesh man wants to keep calling the shots which is in conflict with the information and truth coming from God through prayer, Holy Spirit and God’s word.

ROMANS 7:23 … 23 But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind…

Thought #4 – How to listen to Jesus within?

  • Be open; don’t avoid areas that you know need help.
  • Know when you first say Jesus can we talk, HE IS RIGHT THERE READY!
  • Take time, wait to hear. He is making sure He has your full attention.
