   Chapter Three

The Deceiver – Satan – The Father of Lies

This “catching away” is a big deal. It was foretold around 2000 years ago and we have been reminded several times since that time. Those Gentile intimate followers of Jesus that have died, come out of their graves, joined by those followers that were still alive on earth, both ASCEND off this earth to a place prepared for them called Heaven! THAT IS A BIG DEAL! But you are still here. First, I need to introduce you to the deceiver himself; The Bible calls him Satan or the devil, the one who deceived the whole earth.

de·cep·tion, deceiver, deceit…

• Concealment or distortion of the truth for the purpose of misleading.
• fraud, trickery, duping, deviousness, slyness, cunning, craftiness, guile, lying

I hope this sinks in fast and deep. To deceive, one must first have Truth. Did you get that? Deception is a direct attack on Truth. Without Truth there would be no need for deception.

Jesus said: Why do you not understand My speech? Because you are not able to listen to My word. 44 You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it. 45 But because I tell the truth, you do not believe Me.  John 8:43-45

Yes Satan IS real after all. Even though his evil character and deceptive ways are opposite of God’s ways of love, righteousness, justice and freedom; Satan himself is NOT opposite of God in rank. There is none equal to God and there is none opposite to God. Satan is on the rank of an angel, a fallen angel at that. His number one power is deceiving those who do not believe and love absolute Truth let-a-lone seek for Truth. The Bible calls it “being blind”, could these verses be describing you?

The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, 10 and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved.  2 Thessalonians 2:9-10

But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, 4 whose minds the god of this age (Satan) has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them.  2 Corinthians 4:3-4

Good news, Jesus exchanged His life for our sin by His; birth, life, death, and resurrection from the dead thus; overcoming Satan, “legally” the first time He was on earth. Jesus…

…disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it.   Colossians 2:15

The final triumph is going to happen a short time from right now…

So the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.10 Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, “Now salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down… Revelation 12:9-10

Let us review chapter three

• Satan is real.
• Satan is a liar; there is NO Truth in him.
• Satan’s natural language is lying; called the father of lies.
• Satan is not opposite of God; and therefore is not equal with God.
• Satan is in the rank of a fallen angel.
• Satan’s number one weapon is deception.
• Deception is the distortion of the truth.
• Those not intimately following Jesus are “blind” to Satan’s schemes.
• Satan has an end.
