Every treasure hunter needs to have not the best tools, rather the basic tools. In the case of understanding the mysteries in the Bible a computer would be great but not necessary. The basic tools are the Bible itself, a relationship with Jesus of whom the Bible is written and understanding that the Holy Spirit WANTS YOU TO UNDERSTAND the Bible. Therefore, let us pull up a chair at The Captain’s table as He unfolds the mysteries!

In this Chapter Six, I am introducing Daniel’s 70 Week Prophecy and my goal is to reveal how detailed and trustworthy our Bible is. We have used our interpretation keys to understand that the Statue in Daniel was the sequence of Government Empires and the Beast give the details of those Ruling Government Empires, of which finish with the beasts in Revelation.

TIME LINE NOTE* – What you are about to read was experienced and written about 2600 years ago. Because we have the privilege of looking back at history, we can prove without doubt that some of the amazing details of this writing have already taken place; therefore we have confidence that:

The first details were fulfilled literally so the remaining will be fulfilled and fulfilled literally.

SETTING AND TIMELINE

606 BC, Daniel about 18 years old was captured from Judea by Babylon maintained his faith and customs of Jehovah God throughout his three year training then was brought to King Nebuchadnezzar to be tested in all matters of wisdom and knowledge. The king found him to be ten times better than all of those in his court. Thus Daniel continued to serve from about 603 until the first year of King Cyrus of Persia 539 BC (about 65 years).

606 BC, Daniel:

• Daniel, about 16 – 18 years old was captured from Judea by Babylon
• Maintained his faith and customs of Jehovah God throughout his three year training
• Was then brought to King Nebuchadnezzar to be tested in all matters of wisdom and knowledge
• The king found him to be ten times better than all of those in his court
• Thus Daniel continued to serve from about 603 until the first year of King Cyrus of Persia 539 BC (about 65 years) until he was about 80 years old

HERE IS THE SETTING KEY!

When Daniel was about 78 years old we find him reading from the prophet Jeremiah. Let’s read what Daniel was reading.

11 And this whole land shall be a desolation and an astonishment, and these nations shall serve the king of Babylon seventy years.

12 ‘Then it will come to pass, when seventy years are completed, that I will punish the king of Babylon and that nation, the land of the Chaldeans, for their iniquity,’ says the Lord;(Jeremiah 5:11-12)

10 For thus says the Lord: After seventy years are completed at Babylon, I will visit you and perform My good word toward you, and cause you to return to this place. Jeremiah 28:10

The Lord said through the prophet Jeremiah they would only be in captivity for seventy years (only two years to go)!

Daniel’s lifetime has been spent in Babylon being true to his God and serving Gentile Kings and now he reads and understands that the captivity was for only 70 years and they only have two years to go before they are free! Daniel goes to prayer repenting before God for their past sins and praising Him for His grace and mercy! Then Daniel is interrupted by the Angel Gabriel again.

Starting in (Daniel 9:1) Daniel is rejoicing over the end of the seventy year enslavement but recorded in (Daniel 9:24) Gabriel is revealing a different seventy. Seventy Week(s) or 70 Weeks of Weeks or a 490 year period to reconcile ALL things.

Mark Your Time Line

This is the interpretation of Daniel’s 70 Week Prophecy, open your Bible and follow your time line: Daniel’s Seventy Week Vision.

Bottom of first red line, insert 457 BC

This is our start date – Artaxerxes in Ezra 7:11-28.  This is a decree to actually rebuild the city.  The decree comes from the seventh year of Artaxerxes (Ezra 7:8).  This is somewhere around 457 BC

Bottom of second red line, insert 408 BC

This is 7 Weeks or 49 years later

Bottom of third red line insert 26 BC

This is Jesus Messiah the Prince will come.

AFTER (Note the word AFTER) those 7 Weeks (or 49 years) count 62 more weeks (or 434 years) Messiah will be cut off (Jesus crucified).

The fourth red line starts Daniel’s 70^th Week

The fifth red line ends Daniel’s 70^th Week

Review

Now that we have marked our time lines let’s review by highlighting  the verses in our Bibles and underlining certain words. I use the color GREEN to highlight a MYSTERY!

Daniel 9:1-3 highlight:

In the first year of Darius the son of Ahasuerus, of the lineage of the Medes, who was made king over the realm of the Chaldeans— ² in the first year of his reign I, Daniel, understood by the books the number of the years specified by the word of the Lord through Jeremiah the prophet, that He would accomplish seventy years in the desolations of Jerusalem.

Daniel 9:21 highlight:

while I was speaking in prayer, the man Gabriel, whom I had seen in the vision at the beginning, being caused to fly swiftly, reached me about the time of the evening offering.

Daniel 9:24 highlight:

“Seventy weeks are determined For your people and for your holy city,

To finish the transgression,

To make an end of sins,

To make reconciliation for iniquity,

To bring in everlasting righteousness,

To seal up vision and prophecy,

And to anoint the Most Holy.”

Daniel 9:25 highlight:

“Know therefore and understand, That from the going forth of the command To restore and build Jerusalem Until Messiah the Prince, There shall be seven weeks and sixty-two weeks;
The street shall be built again, and the wall, Even in troublesome times.

Daniel 9:26 highlight:

“And after the sixty-two weeks

Messiah shall be cut off, but not for Himself;

And the people of the prince who is to come Shall destroy the city and the sanctuary. The end of it shall be with a flood, And till the end of the war desolations are determined.”

• *Note the word AFTER) After those 7 Weeks (or 49 years) count 62 more weeks (or 434 years) Messiah the Prince will come (Jesus) Messiah will be cut off (Jesus crucified).
• The prince to come (Rome) shall destroy the city and the sanctuary. This is the end of the 69^th Week but there is one week remaining, the 70^th Week.

Daniel 9:27

Then he shall confirm a covenant with many for one week;
But in the middle of the week
He shall bring an end to sacrifice and offering.
And on the wing of abominations shall be one who makes desolate,
Even until the consummation, which is determined,
Is poured out on the desolate.”

In the middle of the week (or 3&1/2 years) He (Anti-Christ) will end sacrifice and offering as the Anti-Christ announces himself as god (abomination of desolation).k”.

God adds 2000 years before finishing the 70^th Week.

Then he (Anti-Christ) shall confirm a covenant with (Israel) and many (ten nation confederacy – the ten toes) for one week.
