Beginning the Journey

WEEK 3 DAY 2 – Discipleship Course – ENTERING THE KINGDOM OF GOD

Memory Verse:

Romans 10:9-10 NKJV

…that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

RECEIVE CHRIST’S FREEDOM – STRONGHOLDS

Thought #1 – Even though we have made Jesus our Lord and King, there may still be areas that still try to hold us attached to the kingdom of darkness.

2 Corinthians 10:4-5 – For the weapons of our warfare are not [a]carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ,

Thought #2 – Joshua and the Stronghold city of Jericho. If you were to look on a map you would see that Joshua was facing a large mountain range and the city of Jericho was guarding the only passage through to get to the “Promised Land” (or deliverance). Jericho was a military stronghold that separated the people of God and the “promised land”. Yes it was the Promised Land, but it came with a fight, a battle and a war against strongholds. We will start asking God to reveal any strongholds in your life so that we can overcome and walk in freedom!

1 Corinthians 15:27 – 1 Corinthians 15:57 – but thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Key #1 – The victory of overcoming strongholds comes through Jesus!
